The Heartland Project has its name because we know Sydney’s LGBTIQA+ community is full of big compassionate hearts. Given the right opportunity, hearts and homes will open in support of LGBTIQA+ people seeking asylum. This project is just that, and the centre of our grass-roots movement are people just like you.
The Heartland Project acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nations, the First Peoples of Australia, whose land we meet and work on today. We acknowledge that we are settlers on unceded stolen land and support the rights and aspirations of First Nations Peoples across Country toward self-determination and full sovereignty.
